Texas American Resources’s executive management consists of a group of seasoned professionals having an average 25 years of industry experience working in the upstream oil and gas sector. TAR presently has 37 full-time employees.
David E. Honeycutt
Chief Executive Officer & President
Mr. Honeycutt is the Founder of Texas American Resources Company, founded in1990, and CEO of Texas American Resources, LLC (“TAR”). Mr. Honeycutt brings a broad understanding of the oil and gas industry and specializes in the areas of project finance and property acquisitions. Under his leadership, TAR has developed from a one-man operation to a significant independent producer with geographically diverse portfolio of producing properties. Over the years, Mr. Honeycutt has overseen numerous acquisitions and divestitures totaling over $350 million. Mr. Honeycutt is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government. He is a member of the IPAMS, the Houston Producers’ Forum and is a Roustabout member of the IPAA. Mr. Honeycutt currently serves on the Development Board at the University of Texas at Austin and is a board member for the Hill Country Conservancy and board chair of the Devils River Conservancy.
Julian Bott
Mr. Bott joined TAR in December 2009. He has 26 years of Corporate finance experience with a focus in the energy industry. Most recently Mr. Bott served as Chief Financial Officer of 3dMD, an entrepreneurial leader in 3D data capture technology and related applications for the biometric and medical industries. He has held various executive positions at the Toronto Dominion Bank, including Regional Head of US and European Corporate and Investment Banking, and Global Head of Energy and Project Finance. Previously, Mr. Bott served as a Managing Director in the Energy Group of Bankers Trust Company.Mr.Bott received an AB in Economics from Harvard University and an MBA from the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University.
Troy Gieselman
Mr. Gieselman joined the Company in June 2001 and is responsible for all Land related functions of the Company. He earned a B.A. in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Houston-Downtown in 1994, graduating with honors, prior to joining Equitable Production Company in January 1995. During his tenure with Equitable, he was responsible for a wide variety of Land functions related to Equitable’s large-scale drilling programs in Virginia, Kentucky, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Mr. Gieselman is a Certified Professional Landman and is a founding member of the Austin Professional Landmen’s Association, having served as President of that Association from 2010-2011. He has been an active member of the American Association of Professional Landmen since 1993 and is currently serving as a Regional Director.
Mark J. Klingseisen
Mr. Klingseisen joined TAR in October 2010 and is responsible for leading the Company’s operations and commercial activities, including acquisitions & divestitures (“A & D”) and the marketing of crude oil & natural gas.Mr. Klingseisen brings a strong commercial background with 32 years of diverse experience in the oil & gas industry. He held various executive positions with BP and Amoco around the world, including: petroleum engineering, strategic planning, business development, oil and gas trading and human resources in the US, Europe, Middle East and China.
Mr. Klingseisen holds a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M with continued Business Management & Leadership education from Stanford, Harvard and INSEAD.
Kirk Chatawanich
Mr. Chatawanich joined the Company in February 2010 and oversees exploration and development geoscience as well as the Company’s Geographic Information Systems. He was previously employed with EnCana Oil & Gas (USA), where he established their Haynesville Shale geologic development program. Prior to EnCana, he worked at Quicksilver Resources, Inc., where he established their Barnett Shale geologic development program. Before Quicksilver, he worked at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, where he performed exploration and development in the East Texas Salt Basin.
Mr. Chatawanich received a BS with Special Honors in Geophysical Sciences from the University of Chicago and an MS in Geological Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists.

Keith Curtis

16+ Years Of Drilling And Well Completion Experience; Leads TAP’s drilling and completions activities; Constructed over 900 well bores on 4 different continents; Held similar positions for Schlumberger, Chesapeake, Stephens Inc.
Heather Jank
Ms. Jank joined TAP in September 2012 with over 15 years of oil & gas industry experience. In her role, she is responsible for all of the Company’s accounting, financial reporting, and insurance processes. Prior to joining TAP, she was Assistant Controller of Kosmos Energy, an international oil and gas exploration and production company with a focus in West Africa. She has also held various managerial accounting positions with Hess Corporation, Toreador Resources Corporation, and Triton Energy, Inc., where she began her career.
Ms Jank earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington and is a certified public accountant. She is a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
